Recent forecasts from NOAA and private models indicate a high of 70-73°F in New York City on September 20, driven by an approaching low-pressure system that will deliver widespread rain, southerly flow, and extensive cloud cover limiting solar heating. These conditions position the 70-71°F and 72-73°F bins as market leaders, reflecting trader consensus on modest daytime warming amid high humidity and precipitation chances exceeding 80%. The setup sits slightly below the 1991-2020 climatological average high near 75°F, with model agreement reducing uncertainty around maximum temperatures. Updated NWS guidance and next model runs tomorrow morning represent the key near-term data points that could refine these implied probabilities before resolution.
