This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the San Francisco International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 31 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=ksfo This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and major models point to a low near 56–57°F for San Francisco on August 31, aligning with the two leading market outcomes (58–59°F at 39.5% and 56–57°F at 32.0%).** San Francisco’s late-summer climate is dominated by the marine layer and persistent onshore flow from the Pacific, which caps daytime highs in the low-to-mid 60s and prevents nocturnal temperatures from dropping sharply. The historical average low for the date is 56.1°F, with recent years typically ranging from the mid-50s to low 60s under similar conditions. No significant shift in the 500-mb pattern or coastal upwelling is expected to alter this regime over the next 48 hours, keeping extreme tails (66°F+, or 47°F and below) at lower implied probabilities. Model consensus remains tight, with only minor variations in cloud cover and wind speed that could nudge the overnight minimum by 1–2°F either way. Traders are therefore pricing the outcome as a narrow range around climatology rather than a departure driven by unusual synoptic features.
