Trader consensus on the "Highest temperature in Sao Paulo on August 31" market, with 29°C or below leading at 39% implied probability, centers on the moderating influence of a strengthening cold front and drier, more stable atmospheric conditions typical of late Southern Hemisphere winter. Recent model runs indicate a shift from transient warm, dry air masses that produced recent highs above 30°C toward cooler advection, aligning with August climatology where mean daily maxima hover near 24–25°C at stations like Mirante de Santana. Key variables include wind patterns from the southeast, reduced insolation under increased cloud cover, and the timing of frontal passage before resolution. Updated INMET and global ensemble guidance expected in the next 24–48 hours will likely refine maximum temperature thresholds and any localized urban heat effects.
