Official National Weather Service forecasts for Los Angeles on September 21 project afternoon highs in the mid-70s, centered on 74–79°F depending on the exact station and timing of marine layer clearance. Persistent low clouds and fog through mid-morning, followed by gradual clearing under southwest flow near 10 mph, will limit peak heating and favor the tightly bunched 74–75°F and 76–77°F bins. Minor differences in sea-breeze onset or residual cloud cover can shift the daily maximum by a degree or two, creating the near-even market split. Later model runs and updated NWS briefings on clearing timing represent the key near-term catalysts that could tip trader consensus before resolution.
