This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 16 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Official forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory and supporting models indicate a daytime maximum in the 32–33°C range for August 16 under partly cloudy skies with showers and moderate southwesterly flow.** This aligns with the market’s near-even split between the 32°C (41.5%) and 33°C (39.5%) outcomes. Typical mid-August climatology centers near 31°C, but the seasonal outlook for normal-to-above-normal temperatures provides modest upside support. Recent days have shown post-heat moderation with maxima around 31–32°C amid increased moisture that limits strong daytime heating. Showers and cloud cover act as the key variables that could cap the reading at 32°C, while clearer intervals or slightly reduced rainfall would allow a brief push to 33°C. Model consensus and the narrow 1°C spread between leading outcomes reflect this genuine forecast uncertainty, with traders weighting the official 28–33°C guidance heavily. No significant tropical systems or extreme heat signals are expected to alter the pattern before resolution.
