Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to overnight lows in the mid-70s across Los Angeles on September 8, driven by lingering tropical moisture from distant Hurricane Marie that limits radiational cooling and sustains elevated dew points. This pattern has already produced unusually warm minimums in early September, with recent observations at LAX showing lows of 64–67 °F giving way to higher values amid increased humidity and cloud cover. Historical September averages near 64 °F underscore the departure, while forecast consensus favors minima near 73–77 °F and assigns only modest odds to cooler outcomes below 70 °F. Updated model runs and evening NWS briefings through September 7 will refine the final minimum reading used for market resolution.
