Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Following the inconclusive March 2026 Slovenian parliamentary election, in which Robert Golob’s Freedom Movement secured a narrow one-seat edge over Janez Janša’s Slovenian Democratic Party but neither bloc reached the 46-seat majority threshold, Golob’s subsequent admission in late April that he could not assemble a coalition has shifted the initiative to Janša. As the largest opposition force, his party now leads active centre-right coalition negotiations with smaller parliamentary groups, a process that aligns with the president’s directive for lawmakers to nominate a viable prime minister candidate within the allotted timeframe. Traders assign Janša the dominant position because these talks appear on track for National Assembly confirmation. Potential disruptions remain limited to last-minute partner withdrawals, failure to secure the required votes, or a presidential decision to restart consultations that could reopen opportunities for alternative candidates.
