Argentina’s July 2026 monthly inflation print of 2.1% MoM, a modest acceleration from June’s 1.9% driven by seasonal winter-holiday effects, has anchored trader expectations for August. Analysts, including BBVA Research, project a slowdown to around 1.8% MoM as those one-off pressures fade amid sustained fiscal balance and monetary restraint under President Milei’s framework. This path aligns with the broader disinflation trend that has reduced annualized inflation to 33.8% by July, though core components and regulated prices continue to show inertia. Market-implied odds heavily favor the 1.8–2.0% bucket, reflecting consensus forecasts ahead of the September 10 INDEC release while acknowledging risks from exchange-rate adjustments or residual price realignments.
