Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago O’Hare indicate a Tuesday high near 81°F under initially cloudy skies that trend partly sunny, with southwesterly flow and a 60% chance of showers or thunderstorms that could cap daytime warming. Ensemble guidance and nearby point forecasts cluster between 78–86°F, supporting the market’s heaviest trading on the 80–83°F bins as the most probable outcomes given typical mid-September boundary-layer conditions and modest moisture. Model spreads remain modest this close to the event, though any earlier clearing or stronger southerly advection could push readings into the mid-80s while persistent clouds or heavier rain would favor the upper 70s. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon model runs on September 14 will further refine these probabilities before Tuesday’s official maximum is recorded.
