Latest NWS guidance and model consensus point to an overnight low near 77°F for Austin on September 2, driven by persistent southerly flow, high dew points near 73–75°F, and partly cloudy skies that limit nocturnal radiative cooling. Light winds and elevated moisture from an approaching tropical moisture plume further suppress temperature drops by enhancing downward longwave radiation and reducing clear-sky heat loss. Minor forecast differences in cloud cover timing, shower coverage, or boundary-layer mixing create the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities across 69–85°F bins, as even small shifts in these variables can alter the minimum by a few degrees. Updated model runs tonight and tomorrow morning will refine the exact low before resolution.
