Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus for Austin on September 6 points to a high near 96–98°F under partly cloudy skies with light southeast winds and a modest afternoon storm chance. This aligns with the market’s leading 96–97°F bin, as September climatology favors upper-90s peaks when subtropical ridging persists and dew points remain elevated. Short-term guidance shows limited day-to-day variability, with only modest spread across runs regarding the precise peak and any convective cooling. Traders appear to weigh the reliability of this warm pattern against the historical 93°F average and occasional late-summer surges, keeping higher bins at low implied probability while the tight cluster around mid-90s reflects the narrow forecast envelope two days out.
