Recent National Weather Service and model consensus point to a high near 80°F for Chicago on August 27 following a cold front’s passage on the 26th, which shifted winds northwest then northeast and introduced cooler, drier air. This setup favors modest daytime heating under partly cloudy skies, with lake-breeze effects capping temperatures in the mid-70s along the shoreline while inland sites reach the low 80s. Trader emphasis on the 80-81°F bin (56% implied probability) aligns with this narrow forecast envelope, while lower odds on 82-83°F reflect limited upside potential absent stronger insolation or delayed frontal timing. Updated model runs and NWS briefings remain the key near-term catalysts.
