Recent forecasts from multiple meteorological models, including those aligned with Servicio Meteorológico Nacional guidance, indicate an afternoon peak near 23–24°C for Mexico City on September 12 amid the rainy season. High elevation around 2,240 meters, combined with persistent cloud cover, light northeasterly winds, and a 35–80% chance of showers or thunderstorms developing by midday, limits surface heating and caps the daily maximum. Official observations early on September 12 showed temperatures near 16°C under mostly cloudy skies, with model consensus pointing to a narrow window for any brief clearing that could allow a 25°C reading before precipitation suppresses further rise. These conditions explain the market's emphasis on 25°C and 26°C+ outcomes while underscoring remaining uncertainty tied to exact rainfall timing and intensity.
