Recent National Weather Service forecasts indicate Atlanta’s overnight low into September 18 will likely settle in the low 70s amid a persistent mid-level ridge and modified northeasterly flow that limits radiational cooling. Model consensus from the GFS and local guidance shows highs near 95 °F under mostly sunny skies, with only a slight afternoon thunderstorm chance that is not expected to alter minimum temperatures substantially. These conditions align with unseasonably warm readings observed through mid-September, well above the 1991–2020 average low of 64.8 °F for the date. Trader consensus reflected in the 72–73 °F bin (48 % implied probability) tracks this forecast cluster, while lower-probability outcomes below 70 °F would require an unexpected surge of drier, cooler air that current guidance does not support. Final NWS observations on the morning of the 18th will resolve the market.
