Recent forecast models from MetService, Met Office, and other agencies point to a daytime high of 13–14°C in Wellington on September 17 under a moist northerly flow ahead of a southerly change, with widespread rain and gusty winds limiting daytime warming. This aligns with early spring climatology, where average September maxima hover near 12.5–13°C, and current model consensus shows little support for exceeding 15°C. Trader positioning heavily favors 15°C (63% implied probability) over 14°C (30.5%), reflecting minor upside bias from ensemble spreads or localized urban heat effects, while lower outcomes remain sidelined absent cooler model runs. Updated guidance ahead of the 24-hour window will refine resolution around official maximum readings.
