Recent National Weather Service and WeatherBug forecasts indicate mostly sunny conditions over Houston on September 18 with highs in the mid-90s, supporting the market's heavy weighting toward 92–95 °F. Persistent high pressure and light east-to-southeast winds under 10 mph are limiting cloud cover and convective cooling, while dew points near 75 °F maintain typical late-summer heat retention. Model consensus shows little disagreement, with no frontal passage or tropical moisture expected to alter the thermal profile before the daily maximum is reached. Historical September averages near 89 °F provide context for the current elevated baseline, though traders appear to discount outlier runs projecting either stronger mixing or brief cloud buildup that could cap temperatures at 90–91 °F.
