Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance points to overnight lows near 58–59°F for San Francisco on September 12, yet trader consensus remains nearly evenly split between a minimum of 49°F or below and 68°F or higher. This polarization reflects uncertainty in the strength and timing of the marine layer, onshore flow, and any late-day clearing that could allow radiational cooling or retain warmth. Historical September lows average 56°F with a record floor of 49°F, while recent September conditions have shown day-to-day swings of several degrees driven by wind shifts and cloud cover. Updated model runs and evening observations over the next 48 hours will likely determine whether the minimum settles in the typical upper-50s range or deviates toward either tail.
