**Official observations from the National Weather Service placed Los Angeles’s peak temperature on September 12 squarely in the 80–81°F range, driving the near-certain market consensus.** Marine-layer stratus and onshore flow suppressed daytime heating below the seasonal average high of roughly 76°F, while light winds and clear afternoon skies prevented any late-day spike. Hourly data from the primary Los Angeles station showed a maximum consistent with the 80–81°F bin and no readings supporting an 82°F+ outcome. With resolution imminent and no credible measurement revision expected, only an unprecedented station error or redefinition of the reporting site could alter the result.
