Thailand's Constitutional Court continues reviewing an ombudsman's petition alleging that barcodes and QR codes on February 8, 2026 general election ballots violated voter secrecy principles, yet trader consensus prices "No" invalidation at 92.5%, reflecting skepticism over material impact. The Election Commission submitted a vigorous defense on April 17, asserting codes ensure ballot integrity without traceability, followed by the court's orders for expert opinions, 11 EC witnesses, and agency statements as recently as April 30—indicating methodical fact-finding rather than imminent annulment. Absent compelling evidence of widespread compromise, historical precedents favor targeted interventions like party dissolutions over upending nationwide results, with proceedings ongoing ahead of the market's June 30 resolution.
