No entrant reached a majority, advancing the 2022 rematch to the November 3 general election under California's top-two system. Traders assign both finalists comparable implied probabilities near 44%, reflecting the race's competitiveness driven by voter divides over department leadership, jail management, homelessness responses, immigration enforcement priorities, and budget oversight for the nation's largest sheriff's agency. Other candidates' lower shares split remaining support without altering the matchup.
