Romania's fractured parliament following the May 5 no-confidence vote that ousted Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has produced closely matched odds, with no single candidate commanding broad trader support. President Nicușor Dan's scheduled consultations with parliamentary parties starting May 18 center on identifying a viable majority before any nomination, favoring figures who can secure investiture without experiments. This environment elevates technocratic or independent options while keeping partisan contenders like Șerban Matei and Radu Burnete in a tight pack. Developments such as coalition realignments, explicit majority commitments from PSD, PNL, or smaller parties, or Dan's selection of a confirmed candidate could quickly shift probabilities ahead of the June 30 resolution window.

If no such Prime Minister takes office by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Romania; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
