Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on August 28 project mostly sunny conditions with highs near 78–82°F, driven by high pressure, light southerly winds, and minimal cloud cover moderating Lake Michigan influences. These align with the market’s leading 82–83°F outcome at 55% implied probability and support the 80–85°F cluster exceeding 89% combined. Historical climatology shows an 81°F average high for the date, while current model consensus indicates limited intensification potential absent warmer advection or clearer skies. Traders are weighting official guidance and short-range stability over longer-term variability as resolution nears.
