Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance shows Houston under a southerly flow of Gulf moisture, supporting afternoon highs of 92–94 °F on September 13 with only scattered thunderstorms expected after peak heating. This pattern aligns with the current market-implied probabilities favoring the 92–93 °F bin (43 %) and 94–95 °F bin (27.5 %), as heat indices already exceed 100 °F and climatological September averages near 90 °F. Limited model spread and absence of stronger steering winds or widespread cloud cover reduce the chance of cooler outcomes below 90 °F, while the low odds on 96 °F+ reflect the modest storm risk that could cap the maximum. Updated NHC and local forecast discussions through the weekend will provide the next key data points for traders.
