**Mild westerly flow and increasing cloud cover are positioning London’s September 17 high near 20–21 °C.** Official Met Office guidance and ensemble model runs issued in the past 24–48 hours converge on a daytime maximum of 20 °C, with limited sunshine and a chance of light rain or drizzle during the morning and early afternoon keeping temperatures from rising further. This aligns with the seasonal transition toward cooler Atlantic air masses, where typical mid-September highs in London range 18–21 °C. The 51 % market-implied probability on 21 °C and 30 % on 20 °C reflect trader assessment of the narrow spread between these outcomes, while the low odds on 22 °C or higher acknowledge the absence of any warm advection or clear-sky amplification in current forecasts. Updated model guidance and Met Office briefings through the morning of the 17th remain the key near-term catalysts.
