**Market-implied odds cluster tightly around 82–85°F because models show moderating onshore flow bringing cooler marine air inland after a multi-day Southern California heat wave.** Strong high pressure that drove 90–100°F+ readings earlier in the week is weakening, allowing the marine layer to deepen and strengthen the sea breeze by Saturday. This typically caps coastal and basin highs several degrees below inland peaks, with NWS guidance projecting upper 80s to low 90s depending on exact marine-layer depth and timing of the gradient shift. Trader sentiment reflects the narrow range of plausible outcomes given recent model consensus and the historical moderating effect of late-August onshore flow in the Los Angeles basin.
