Recent National Weather Service and private model runs indicate Austin overnight lows on September 18 will likely settle in the lower to mid-70s, driven by a persistent subtropical ridge maintaining a warm, moist air mass with dew points near 70°F. Light southeast winds and limited nocturnal cloud cover allow only modest radiative cooling after daytime highs near 95–99°F, keeping the diurnal range compressed relative to September climatology. These conditions produce market-implied odds clustered around 74–77°F, with adjacent bins near 70–73°F reflecting minor model spread in boundary-layer mixing and any late-day moisture. Updated GFS and ECMWF guidance ahead of the date will determine whether slight cooling or continued warmth shifts probabilities within this narrow range.
