This market will resolve to "Yes" if the HOT Rotisserie Chicken Act (H.R. 8403) is passed by both chambers of the U.S. Congress and signed into law, or is otherwise enacted into law, by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution sources for this market will be Congress.gov’s legislation tracker (https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/8403/text) and other official information from the government of the United States; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**The Hot Rotisserie Chicken Act (H.R. 8403 / S. 4367), introduced in late April 2026 by a bipartisan group including Sens. Jim Justice, John Fetterman, Shelley Moore Capito, and Michael Bennet, would amend the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to add hot rotisserie chicken to the definition of SNAP-eligible food.** The narrowly tailored measure cleared the House in late April but remains in the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee with no further floor action reported. As of mid-June 2026, Congress faces a compressed calendar dominated by must-pass appropriations measures and broader nutrition policy debates, leaving insufficient procedural runway—including committee markup, Senate passage, conference reconciliation if needed, and presidential signature—before the June 30 deadline. These legislative bottlenecks and the absence of recent momentum explain trader consensus around a 90%+ probability that the bill will not become law by the cutoff.
