SpaceX has advanced Starship V3 testing with multiple successful Super Heavy booster tower catches and improved heat shield performance during Flight 13 in July 2026, which delivered the first intact upper-stage splashdown and valuable reentry data. However, the upper stage has yet to attempt a tower catch, orbital flights remain pending for Flight 14 in September, and Elon Musk has targeted the first ship reflight for late 2026 or early 2027. Regulatory approvals, engine reliability refinements, and the technical demands of rapid full-stack reuse continue to introduce schedule risk, supporting the market's 64% probability that full reusability will not be demonstrated before 2027.
