Persistent marine layer influence and onshore westerly flow from the Pacific are anchoring San Francisco temperatures near seasonal averages around 69–70°F for August 25. Latest National Weather Service guidance and ensemble forecasts indicate mostly cloudy conditions with highs likely in the upper 60s to low 70s, as the eastern Pacific trough maintains cooler coastal air while limiting afternoon warming. Recent model runs show no significant ridge strengthening or offshore flow to push readings into the mid-70s or higher, keeping 70–73°F bins as the strongest trader consensus. Historical August variability and the low probability of rapid marine layer erosion further support these narrower ranges over extremes. Updated NWS briefings and next model cycle will refine land-sea breeze and cloud-cover details ahead of resolution.
