Incumbent Chou Chun-mi of the Democratic Progressive Party holds a commanding position in the Pingtung County magistrate race ahead of the November 28, 2026, local elections, reflecting her established record since winning the seat in 2022 and the party's traditional strength in southern Taiwan. The Kuomintang's nomination of Su Ching-chuan as its candidate has consolidated opposition support but has not shifted the implied probability significantly, consistent with historical incumbent advantages in county magistrate contests. Multiple other candidates remain in the field with limited visibility or party backing, contributing to market pricing that treats the contest as effectively a two-candidate dynamic. No major polling shifts, scandals, or policy developments have altered the landscape in recent months, leaving the current trader consensus driven primarily by Chou's incumbency and party infrastructure.
