Texas's 22nd congressional district maintains a solid Republican lean with an R+11 partisan voting index and a history of GOP victories exceeding 60 percent in recent cycles. The open seat created by incumbent Troy Nehls's retirement has not altered this positioning, as his identical twin Trever Nehls secured the Republican nomination in a March 2026 primary landslide. Traders price the Republican nominee at 91 percent implied probability, reflecting the district's voter base across Fort Bend, Brazoria, and Harris counties plus limited Democratic infrastructure. A commanding lead could narrow only in the event of a major nominee scandal, unusually high Democratic turnout in a national wave cycle, or further court-ordered redistricting shifts before the November 3 general election.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
