Meta Platforms shares closed near $648 on September 11, 2026, with a $1.65 trillion market capitalization amid ongoing digestion of the July 29 Q2 earnings miss. Adjusted EPS of $6.18 fell short of estimates due to a $2.4 billion legal charge and elevated severance costs, though advertising revenue rose 27% year-over-year to $59.36 billion and beat consensus. Traders are pricing in heavy 2026 capital expenditures of $130–145 billion tied to AI infrastructure, which pressured free cash flow and contributed to the post-earnings sell-off. Near-term attention centers on the September 21 ex-dividend date and the September 23–24 Meta Connect event, where new smart-glasses or AI product updates could shift sentiment ahead of the October 28 Q3 earnings release. Analyst consensus remains strongly bullish with a median 12-month target near $750–760.
