Forecast models from the National Weather Service and global ensembles project an overnight low in New York City on September 17 in the upper 60s to low 70s, driven by persistent southerly flow, high dew points near 65°F, and mostly cloudy skies that limit radiative cooling. This pattern follows several days of above-normal temperatures and humidity across the Northeast, keeping minimums well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 61°F. Market-implied odds cluster tightly around 68–73°F because ensemble spreads remain modest, with limited downside risk absent a faster-moving cold front or clearer skies. Traders will monitor updated model runs and NWS forecast discussions for any shifts in steering patterns or moisture before resolution.
