Official National Weather Service forecasts for Dallas indicate an overnight low in the upper 70s to low 80s on September 16 under mostly clear skies and persistent southerly flow, consistent with the ongoing heat wave and elevated dew points near 70°F that limit radiational cooling. This places the minimum well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 70°F for the date. Trader sentiment remains closely split between outcomes below 71°F and 90°F or higher because model guidance shows modest uncertainty in exact wind speeds and boundary-layer moisture, which can alter the minimum by several degrees; upcoming evening observations and updated model runs will refine these thresholds.
