Incumbent Paul Lefebvre holds a clear lead in the October 26, 2026 Greater Sudbury mayoral race due to his established record since winning the 2022 election and his emphasis on economic momentum, population growth, and stable municipal leadership during his re-election announcement and State of the City address. Recent nomination filings through late August confirmed a field of challengers including Miranda Rocca-Circelli, who launched a platform focused on fiscal accountability, taxes, housing, and governance reforms after her 2022 third-place finish, along with lesser-known candidates such as Troy Crowder, Joseph Boutros, Bob Johnston, Rodney Newton, Keenan Menard, and Michael McIntosh. Trader positioning reflects the typical advantages of incumbency in Canadian municipal contests, with limited polling or late shifts altering the consensus ahead of the vote.
