Official National Weather Service guidance points to a high near 84°F in Denver today under partly sunny skies with a 20% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms after 4 p.m., a modest cap on peak heating. Mostly cloudy conditions and easterly flow are limiting solar insolation compared with recent warmer days, while the climatological September average high sits at 79°F. Model consensus clusters in the low-to-mid 80s, with slight upward bias possible if skies clear earlier than expected or if downslope warming strengthens. Traders have concentrated bets in the 82–87°F brackets because small differences in cloud timing or convective initiation can shift the daily maximum by a degree or two within the resolution windows. Updated NWS briefings and hourly observations through the afternoon will refine the final reading.
