Víctor Robert De La Cruz Rosas leads the Trujillo mayoral race with implied probabilities near 60 percent on Polymarket, reflecting recent surveys that placed him first in voter intention at 23.5 percent. The October 4, 2026, election features roughly 15 registered candidates, including Mario Colberth Reyna Rodríguez, Víctor Alfonso Castañeda Carrera, and Víctor Julio León Álvarez, which fragments support across parties such as Podemos Perú and Alianza para el Progreso. De la Cruz’s edge stems from his profile as a regional councilor, targeted outreach to transport workers, and clearance in a prior legal matter, while trailing options remain in single digits. Persistent fragmentation and limited consolidation among challengers have kept the contest competitive, with further polling shifts, candidate withdrawals, or late campaign events likely to widen or narrow the gap before ballots close.
