This market will resolve to "Yes" if there is a diplomatic meeting between representatives of Israel and Hezbollah by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. A diplomatic meeting refers to a deliberate meeting between representatives of Israel and Hezbollah who are acting in an official capacity and are authorized to engage in negotiation or diplomacy regarding Israel-Hezbollah relations on behalf of their governments/leadership structures. Meetings conducted indirectly, for example, through designated mediators, facilitators, or interlocutors acting with the knowledge and authorization of the relevant governments, will qualify. Brief greetings, chance encounters, or talks otherwise not deliberately aimed at diplomacy or negotiation will not count. The meeting must be in-person (including indirect in-person meetings) and must be publicly acknowledged by either government or reported by a consensus of credible media. Remote meetings, phone calls, or other meetings where the relevant parties are not present will not count. The resolution sources for this market will be official information from the government of Israel and Hezbollah leadership, and a consensus of credible reporting.**Israel and Hezbollah have not held direct diplomatic meetings, with all formal negotiations routed through the Lebanese government and U.S. mediation.** In June 2026, Israel, Lebanon, and the United States signed a trilateral framework agreement in Washington establishing pilot zones for Lebanese army deployment, a process for Hezbollah disarmament, and phased Israeli withdrawals from parts of southern Lebanon. Hezbollah quickly rejected the deal, with its leadership insisting on unconditional Israeli withdrawal and refusing to participate or accept terms that sideline the group. Subsequent Israeli strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure and reported violations of ceasefire understandings have continued into September, alongside limited Israel-Lebanon envoy contacts in Washington. Upcoming rounds of government-level talks have been delayed into October, while Hezbollah maintains its stance against normalization or direct engagement. These dynamics keep prospects for any bilateral Israel-Hezbollah diplomatic meeting low in the near term.
