Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 70s across Houston on September 18, sustained by a warm, humid subtropical air mass with light easterly winds and mostly clear skies that limit radiational cooling while high dew points suppress temperature drops. Historical September averages near 72°F provide context, yet current late-summer patterns have trended warmer amid the absence of any frontal passages. Key variables include the precise timing of any thin cloud increases, minor wind shifts, or localized urban heat effects that could nudge readings a degree or two in either direction. Trader-implied odds cluster around 78-79°F, reflecting this narrow forecast range and inherent model uncertainty at short lead times.
