Recent National Weather Service and NOAA model guidance for New York City points to a September 16 high in the upper 70s to low 80s under partly cloudy skies and light southwesterly flow, aligning with the market’s strongest implied probabilities for 80-81°F and 78-79°F ranges. Short-range ensembles show limited spread due to stable high pressure and minimal frontal influence, though afternoon mixing and any increase in cloud cover could shift the maximum by a degree or two. Historical climatology places the long-term average high near 76°F, so current conditions reflect a modest warm anomaly consistent with late-summer patterns. Updated NWS briefings and next model cycles over the next 48 hours will provide the key data points for refining these probabilities ahead of resolution.
