Recent official forecasts and model consensus from sources including the National Weather Service point to a high temperature of 70–72°F in New York City on September 15, driven by post-frontal clearing, northerly winds, and high pressure that suppress cloud cover and moisture. This alignment explains the market’s heavy weighting toward the 72–73°F bin at 58.5 percent implied probability, with the 74–75°F outcome at 23 percent reflecting residual uncertainty in afternoon mixing. Historical September climatology shows typical highs near 75°F, but the current cooler air mass has shifted probabilities downward. Updated model runs and surface observations over the next 48 hours will provide the final confirmation ahead of market resolution.
