Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model consensus point to a high near 71–74°F for Chicago on September 13, driven by a post-frontal northerly wind shift that limits daytime heating after Saturday’s mid-80s warmth. Afternoon cloud cover and a 30–40% chance of showers further cap temperatures by reducing insolation, consistent with climatological patterns for early-September cold fronts. Traders assign the highest implied probability to the 74–75°F bin, reflecting minor spread among guidance that shows slight warming potential if skies clear earlier than expected or if the front lingers south of the metro. The 72–73°F range trails closely, underscoring uncertainty in exact peak timing and boundary-layer mixing ahead of the next data release from the 12Z model suite. Historical September 13 highs average 77°F, so current cooler steering patterns represent a meaningful departure.
