**Trader consensus on Chicago's September 12 high centers on mid-to-upper 80s readings, driven by a warm, moist southwesterly flow under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.** Official National Weather Service and local forecasts project afternoon peaks well above the 1991–2020 average high of 77.5°F, with model guidance and real-time observations supporting 84–87°F as the most probable range. Light winds and limited cloud cover have allowed efficient daytime heating, while dew points in the upper 50s to low 60s indicate moderate humidity without significant suppression of maximum temperatures. With the day progressing and no major forecast revisions from NOAA or NWS, the tight spread between the two leading bins reflects minor uncertainty in exact peak timing and localized variations across the metro area.
