Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to a Sunday high near 94°F in Houston, with mostly sunny morning conditions giving way to scattered afternoon thunderstorms that could cap the peak. Southerly flow off the Gulf sustains high moisture and heat indices above 105°F, while typical September steering patterns and limited cloud cover support readings in the low-to-mid 90s rather than the historical average near 90°F. Trader consensus splitting between the 92-93°F and 94-95°F bins reflects model spread on convective timing and intensity, with only modest odds on 96°F+ outcomes given the storm risk. Official readings from primary stations will resolve the market after the daily maximum is recorded.
