Incoming cold air from northern China, combined with widespread rainfall, is the dominant driver suppressing Wuhan's daytime highs on September 17, with official forecasts from the Wuhan Meteorological Observatory and multiple models converging on a maximum near 22°C amid northeast winds and persistent cloud cover. This marks a sharp 8–10°C drop from mid-September peaks above 30°C, consistent with typical early-autumn cold-surge patterns in the Yangtze River valley. Consensus across sources places the likely range at 21–24°C, supporting the market's heaviest weighting on 22°C and 23°C outcomes while assigning low probability to extremes above 25°C or below 20°C. Updated model runs and any last-minute adjustments to precipitation timing remain the key near-term variables for traders.
