Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and multiple models indicate a Thursday high in Austin near 96–98°F, with partly to mostly cloudy skies, easterly winds of 5–10 mph, and a 15–30% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Increased cloud cover and humidity levels around 45–60% are expected to reduce peak solar heating compared with the clearer, hotter conditions of the prior two days, when highs reached 99–101°F. This creates tight differentiation between the leading 96–97°F and 98–99°F bins, as the exact timing and coverage of clouds or any convection could shift the daily maximum by 1–2°F. Trader sentiment aligns closely with this narrow range amid typical late-summer variability in central Texas. Updated NWS guidance and afternoon model runs will provide the next key data points before resolution.
