Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs indicate a building upper-level ridge over the Pacific Northwest will support daytime highs in the low-to-mid 70s for Seattle on September 1, before a warm front Tuesday night and stronger cold front Wednesday introduce cooler marine air. This places the market's leading 74–75 °F bin (31 % implied probability) just above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 74.2 °F, while nearby 70–73 °F outcomes (49 % combined) reflect uncertainty in cloud cover, marine-layer depth, and exact frontal timing. Short-range GFS and ECMWF solutions show modest spread in peak temperatures, underscoring how small shifts in steering flow or insolation can alter the daily maximum by a few degrees. Updated model cycles and the next NWS Area Forecast Discussion will provide the clearest signals ahead of resolution.
