**Incoming cold air and widespread rain are driving trader focus on Chengdu’s minimum temperature for September 9.** Official and model guidance show a noticeable cooldown beginning September 8 evening, with northerly winds of 4–7 m/s and moderate-to-heavy precipitation through the night and following day. This setup favors a minimum near 18–21 °C, consistent with the closely bunched market prices around 19–22 °C. Ensemble forecasts place the overnight low in that narrow band, though exact timing of heaviest rain and local wind gusts introduce modest spread. Historical early-September minima in the Sichuan Basin average near 20–22 °C, so the current cold-air intrusion represents a clear departure that traders are pricing with tight probabilities across the 19–22 °C outcomes. Updated model runs and any revised China Meteorological Administration guidance ahead of resolution will be the next key data points.
