This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed city records measurable precipitation on August 10. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Measurable precipitation means 0.01 inches or more as reported by the Weather Underground station page for the city. A report of trace ("T") does not qualify. Resolution is based on the station's first published precipitation figure for the day. Subsequent revisions or corrections to the published data will not be considered; the first published value is final. If no figure has been published by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to "No".Scattered showers and thunderstorms are the primary driver shaping trader sentiment for rain on August 10, with National Weather Service guidance indicating the highest probabilities across the central and eastern United States due to ongoing atmospheric instability and moisture transport. Western regions, including much of the Southwest and Intermountain West, face minimal precipitation risk amid intensifying heat and high-pressure dominance. NOAA's precipitation outlook for August 3–10 highlights above-normal totals in the East and Upper Midwest contrasted with near-zero amounts farther west, aligning with typical summer convective patterns. Key variables include steering patterns and any shifts in model consensus from the Climate Prediction Center's 6–10 day products. Updated NWS local forecasts and the next CPC briefing represent the nearest data releases likely to influence near-term odds.
