PAGASA's latest outlook for Metro Manila on September 21 points to a 25–31°C range under southwest monsoon influence, with 40% rain chance from isolated thunderstorms, aligning with the market's tight clustering around 32°C (38% implied probability) and 33°C (31.5%). Persistent cloud cover and high humidity typical of the peak rainy season often cap afternoon peaks near or slightly above seasonal averages of 31–32°C, while variable steering winds and brief clearing could allow brief heating to 33°C or higher in some model runs. Historical September extremes rarely exceed 34°C without stronger subsidence or reduced convection, supporting the lower odds on 34°C (14.5%) and above. Updated PAGASA and global model guidance ahead of the observation window will likely drive any shifts in trader positioning.
